LABOR PLEDGES TO POWER MAURICE ZEFFERT
Member for Perth, Patrick Gorman, today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will support the purchase of a backup power system for the Maurice Zeffert aged care home.
Maurice Zeffert opened in 1961 as Perth’s first Jewish residential aged care facility. This $150,000 election commitment will help build the aged care home’s resilience to blackouts and increase safety for residents.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
Quotes attributable to Member for Perth, Patrick Gorman:
“Every Australian deserves to feel safe and supported in our community, no matter who they are or what they believe.
“Maurice Zeffert delivers a vital service to the Jewish community, allowing them to maintain their connection to the Jewish culture when living in an aged care home.
“Having access to a backup power source will mean residents can continued to be cared for including vital access to medical care as well as ensuring security systems will continue to operate.”
